Qaasuitsup, since 2009
Qaasuitsup is the northernmost of Greenland’s four new municipalities. Its coat of arms features a team of sled dogs under the moon, the sun, a snowflake, and the aurora borealis.

Kazimir Malevich (1915)
1. Black Circle
2. Black Cross
3. Black Square
With these paintings, it was Malevich’s intention to represent a spiritual staircase from the earth to the moon.
Black Square represents the earth.
Black Circle represents the moon.
Black Cross is a representation of an ancient symbol for choice, in other words, a crossroads, the most dangerous place to be.
“In a time of ancient gods, warlords, and kings, a land in turmoil cried out for a hero. She was Xena, a mighty princess, forged in the heat of battle…Her courage will change the world.”
I want to go to there.
